The initiative to establish the Foundation supporting the development of Adam Mickiewicz University,
(one of the largest and best universities) started in1990. The idea of the then AMU vice-chancellor was supported by a number of significant institutions
and economic entities of Wielkopolska. They associate the success of AMU and science with the development of the whole region.

established the AMU Foundation which objective is broadly understood support for the university.
The Foundation entered the register of foundations on 8th November 1991 and started its actual activity from the beginning of 1992.
